Updates on 2025 EMCR Pitch Your Project Workshop

We are delighted to share that the winning team from the 2025 SMHR EMCR Workshop: Pitch Your Project is putting their $5,000 seed funding towards launching a half-day grant writing workshop.

Focused on innovation, AI, technology, and digital mental health, the workshop will equip Early and Mid-Career Researchers with practical strategies to develop competitive national and international grants.

Massive congratulations to the winning team: Aimy Slade (Black Dog), Atia Fatimah (Black Dog), Biya Tang (Black Dog), Christa Lam-Cassettari (UNSW), Gabrielle Ritchie (Queensland Health), Nitharsaa Ambalavanar (Black Dog), Rochelle Ye (Orygen/Unimelb), Rosalind Ge (Orygen/Unimelb), Smrithi Ravindra (Black Dog), and Xuanchen Liu (Black Dog)!

Dr. Grabby Ritchie from the winning team reflected on the experience: "Pitch Your Project was a valuable learning opportunity early in my career. It helped me clarify my ideas, strengthen how I communicate them, and build connections with EMCRs across the country. The experience has sparked ongoing conversations and future collaborations."

We are proud to have supported the development of our EMCR members, and are excited to see this funding already creating new opportunities for the broader EMCR community.

Finally, a reminder that the SMHR ECR Awards, in partnership with the Anika Foundation, are now open, offering three $10,000 seed grants to support ECR-led mental health research initiatives. Please stay tuned for more opportunities, initiatives, and events to come!
