SMHR Conference Travel Grants-in-Aid 2026

SMHR are pleased to announce that the following SMHR Conference Travel Grants-in-aid will be available for 2026: 

  • Up to 4 x $1000 travel grants will be available for students and early career researchers living in or outside of New Zealand to facilitate attendance at the Joint 2026 SMHR and ASBDD conference. 

Selection Criteria: 

  • Financial member of SMHR or ASBDD at the time of application
  • Current PhD student or graduated from PhD within past 2 years (letter of conferral received after 29/11/2022)
  • Have not previously received a Grant‐in‐Aid for an SMHR or ASBDD conference.
  • The award is to be used for bona fide requirements (travel and/or attendance as relevant)
  • Applicants who are funded to attend the conference by their departments/employers (other than top‐up funding) are ineligible to apply.
Obligation: Award winners are required to attend the Joint 2026 SMHR and ASBDD conference and to attend the awards session.
