The New Winter Workshop in Mental Health Research & Innovation
Japan 2017

SMHR is proud to host the New Winter Workshop in Mental Health Research & Innovation, in the beautiful Kiroro Resort, Hokkaido, Japan from January 15-20, 2017.

The new Winter Workshop will provide a unique opportunity for mental health clinicans and researchers from around the world to come together to catalyse much needed progress in the understanding and treatment of these complex illnesses.

The Winter Workshop represents a novel type of conferencing – maximising all the benefits of being in a beautiful location without missing out on the critical networking and research updates that we all seek from our conferencing experience.

During the day….

There will be free time to allow us to get out and explore Hokkaido, to take advantage of the beautiful ski slopes during the best times of that day to ski, and to build some fun, unstructured, social networking into our days.

In the early evening

We will showcase the latest mental health research and innovation internationally, led by international thought leaders in early intervention in psychosis (Professor Eric Chen, ), early intervention in bipolar disorders (Professor Phillipe Conus, University of Lausanne), prevention and treatment of comorbid mental health and substance use disorders (Professor Maree Teesson, University of New South Wales), and psychobiology and treatment, recovery, and improving the quality and cost of care (Dr John M. Kane, Senior Vice President for Behavioral Health Services, Northwell Health). Limited opportunities to present your own work will be built into the program, so consider submitting an abstract for inclusion in this exciting workshop event.
